Hurricane Irene update

From Susan ... Hi Everyone! Just a quick note to update you on our Hurricane Irene situation. We are all fine (including all the animals!). Luckily none of our structures were damaged, but high winds and unbelievable amounts of rain took down a lot of trees. Most of these were quite large and simply uprooted. There is debris everywhere! We are still without power, but our generator is doing a good job for most things in the house.  So now we will tackle the big job of cleanup, which will take quite a while. We already have two of the fields open and the horses are out and happy.

So now we have survived an earthquake and a hurricane in a week! We’re looking forward to more peaceful times. I hope you all are well!!

July 2011: Quintessa shows again

Quintessa, owned by myself and Debbie Bly, traveled to Morven Park on July 30th for the VADA/Nova Breed show. She garnered a lot of attention and placed 4th in the Yearling Filly class with a score of 76.200%. She later placed 2nd in the Hannoverian class with a score of 78.500%

June 2011: Huey's results from PVDA Ride for Life

While I'm on hiatus from competing, my long-time student Samantha Allan (of Allan & Clover Sport Horses) has been helping to keep Huey (aka Revelle) in work. The pair made their competition debut at the PVDA Ride for Life on June 25th and 26th at the Prince George's Equestrian Center.  It was both Samantha and Huey's first time at Third Level, and they did great! They scored a 65.000% on Saturday, and improved on that with a 68.421% on Sunday.

Quintessa at Devon.
Exciting news! Along with Debbie Bly, we have purchased Quintessa, an amazing filly by the renowned stallion Quarterback. Her breeders took her to Devon where she won her foal class. This means that Quinn is second in the country currently for her class. We're excited to get this filly home later this fall.

Later in the month, Susan took the tests for the "R" and Dressage Sport Horse Breeding judges licenses. Check back in a few months for an update on these prestigious licensing process.

At the end of the month, Susan traveled to the Kentucky Horse Park for the 2010 World Equestrian Games. While there, she was asked to be an Area Steward on cross-country during the Eventing competition.
